Job Overview 

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our team.

Reporting to the Group Chief Underwriting officers (Treaty and Facultative), the primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate and assess treaty and facultative risks in our Egypt market, ensuring that all underwriting decisions align with company policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Risk Evaluation: Analyze treaty and facultative risks, considering factors such as viability, exposure, environmental impact, social considerations, governance, regulatory compliance, and claims history.
  2. Underwriting Decisions: Ensure that underwriting decisions are made in accordance with company guidelines and legal requirements.
  3. Communication and Documentation:
    • Thoroughly document and justify underwriting decisions in a clear, detailed and organized manner.
    • Effectively communicate these decisions and their rationale to internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with all relevant departments to enhance comprehensive risk management efforts.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at improving underwriting processes and standards.
  5. Compliance and Continuous Learning:
    • Continuously familiarize yourself with company policies, industry trends, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and enhance underwriting practices.
    • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and elevate underwriting expertise.
  6. Customer Service:
    • Provide excellent service to clients and brokers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
    • Foster positive relationships with clients and partners to support business development and client retention.

Qualifications 

Educational Background: An undergraduate degree relevant to the role.

Professional Certifications:

CII UK or an equivalent certification, or evidence of progress toward obtaining the certification.

Language Skills:

Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is required for this role.
