Continental Reinsurance operates in more than 44 African countries and has offices in Abidjan, Douala, Gaborone, Lagos, Nairobi and Tunis. As a pan-African organisation, we have a dedicated CSR programme encompassing each of the regions in which we operate.
In Nigeria, we recently announced our commitment to a local sponsorship programme of the SOS Children’s Village at Owu Ljebu in Ogun State, and assumed financial responsibility for 10 children between three and 14 years of age. Through the sponsorship, Continental Reinsurance covers the costs of the health, educational and physical needs of the children on an annual basis.
Some of the other organisations that we support in Lagos are Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children, Onikan Health Centre, Welsey School for Hearing-impaired Children (1&2), and the National Handicap Carers Association.
We have supported organisations involved in the care of hearing and sight-impaired children, and other social care initiatives, not only in Nigeria, but via our other regional offices in Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and Kenya. In Abidjan, we support Foyer De L’Enfance SOS Villages, and the Kenya Red Cross Tana Delta reconstruction project via our Nairobi office.
